Who We Are
How did Dutchtown Baptist church start?
Dutchtown Baptist Church began with a few families conducting prayer meetings in different homes in the Dutchtown area. The church charter was filed on Aug. 22, 1963, and 40 disciples took their next steps together and established a strong tradition of prayer, study and action. The dreams of the charter members were realized as many other families were added.
Where are we going?
It is our prayer that as we look toward the future we will be determined, through the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to do more for the cause of Jesus Christ. We desire to carry on prayer, study and action through ministries for everyone. We seek to worship God in a sweet mixture of traditional and contemporary worship songs. Each week, we gather to hear sermons that are messages from God's unchanging Word to people who live in changing times.
Why we are here.
To see people come to know the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) and grow to have the full and meaningful life God has promised (John 10:10). In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE ...." In our hyper-speed world, getting lost, being deceived and just doing life can leave you empty and dissatisfied. We are a group of believers that has hope in the Lord. We want you to know that God loves you and wants you to have a full and meaningful life.
What we do.
We seek to focus on Jesus Christ in all that we do through prayer, Bible study, worship and serving others.
What we believe.
Dutchtown Baptist Church holds the Bible as the authority in all areas of life. Our interpretation of Christian truth contained in Scripture is in accord with the Baptist Faith and Message Statement adopted June 3, 2000.
